We helped insurance company Cattolica Assicurazioni create Quotti, a cross-device web app that was designed with the dual purpose of facilitating Cattolica agents’ activities and monitoring their progress in real time.

From a one-to-one marketing perspective, Quotti stands as the tool that allows agents to interact with users and create tailored policy proposals.

About Cattolica Assicurazioni

Cattolica Assicurazioni is a cooperative company at the head of one of Italy’s major insurance groups. With more than 1,500 agencies throughout the country, Cattolica addresses primarily individuals, families, and small and medium-sized businesses.

The research

To help the product owner and the team define the project with its goals and to create a shared vision with the whole team, we were guided by the vision and product canvas. The research phase then consisted of analyzing the three main users the application is aimed at: the agent, the employee, and the agency manager.

The metrics identified to measure the achievement of the objectives were: the percentage of quotes made and the percentage of policies issued.

Once the information regarding the three main users was collected, the research focused on identifying their journeys and their mutual interactions during agency and customer sales activities.

Quotti B2B – UI and Development

The user interface was created for cross-device PC and tablet use. The reference guideline for UI development was Google’s Material Design. The development process was paced by two-week scrum sprints, in which the designers worked with a sprint lead over the developers.

Each UI was then transformed by our frontend designer into html components ready to be integrated by the developers of Cattolica in the next sprint.

Iconography

For Quotti we came up with a new common iconographic language in which, in addition to its purely practical value, the icon becomes the vehicle of the product’s visual identity. Each icon consists of a dark “outline” skeleton filled with colored areas in line with the brand palette.

Results

Quotti has recently come into full use in Cattolica agencies, bringing to the agency world the ability to work cross-device and monitor quotation and stipulation activities on a daily basis. The project meanwhile has continued: from the Quotti B2B backbone we are rolling out Cattolica’s first cross-device B2C quoting tool.
